Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management

We provide commercial management support and services to our clients with advice on ‘day to day’ construction cost issues which often include the following:

  • Estimating and tendering
  • Valuations
  • Advice on adopting the appropriate commercial procedures, to manage construction projects;
  • Advice on the obligations associated with Payment Notices and Pay Less Notices;
  • Valuing and managing variation and change accounts; and
  • Advice on the production, submission and negotiation of final accounts.

Contract Review Service

How often do you sign a contract without really having a full understanding of its provisions and amendments.

We provide an easy-to-follow report on the amendments to standard form contracts.

  • A traffic light system warning of potential risks.
  • A ‘health-check’ on contractual terms and conditions
  • Understand the key risks in tender documents
  • Identify amendments that you might not be willing to accept or need to price into the contract.
  • The review also highlights how you need to operate the contract and how you might be able to use it to your advantage.

Contract Administration

We can administer your contract and the costs of your project. Our specific roles and duties will be agreed and can be bespoke to your needs.

We have experience in commercial and domestic projects ranging from house extensions to major commercial developments. Increasingly domestic clients are taking control and appointing a contract administrator to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with the contract, ensuring that what you buy is what you get.

Examples of the kinds of duties our contract administrator service can include:

  • Tendering project works and advising on the tender result
  • Advising on the most appropriate contract
  • Formation of the contract with the successful tenderer
  • Ensuring that the works are progressing in accordance with the contract programme
  • Reporting to the employer on progress of works
  • Providing instructions to the contractor
  • Determining applications for an extension of time
  • Managing adjustments to the contract price
  • Issuing Practical Completion Certificates
